The Porsche 916 was never
introduced, just a prototype, only about eleven were made in 1972.
The 916 used the 914 body, but the fenders were flared like the
914/6 GT. The 916 had a roof, is wasn't a targa, they all had 2.4L
engine used in the 911S, a 915 gearbox, and they had luxurious
interiors.The engine put out about 190 horsepower, and a top
speed about 145 mph. It weighed less than the 911S, and was the
quickest accelerating Porsche, 0-60 under seven seconds.
